Duration & Scope
The Whole Body Comprehensive Yoga Teacher Training is a 200-hour program includes 4 weekends of online, Zoom-based training. Our program includes: 80 hours of self-practice, and 120 hours of practice teaching. There are videos and assignments to complete, and written tests to take in the video platform. All physical test-outs are taken online with a lead instructor.
Program Breakdown (75 hours total):
- In-Studio Lecture / Live Zoom Sessions (80 hours): Over 4 weekends, you’ll learn basic and more in-depth anatomy, history of yoga and scope of practice, and a breakdown of every exercise according to breath, muscle focus, and contraindications and modifications. The weekends are broken down by equipment type. We will teach session planning for private sessions, duets, and group classes and give you starting class templates. We will discuss our case studies and the application of movement principles in the Yoga repertoire.
- Self-Practice (40 hours): A minimum number of hours practicing on your own or in a class or private lesson. This is the time you spend learning the movement in your body.
- Practice-Teaching (40 hours): After you complete the first training weekend, you’ll start case studies that will hone your teaching voice and help you apply more advanced concepts to your teaching. You can teach as many people as you like, but we do require the same case study to be at least 10 of these hours.
- Observation (20 hours): You’ll watch classes and private sessions, both in-studio and online. This will allow you to see the trainings in action!
- Anatomy and Physiology (10 hours): You’ll watch Juliana apply movement principles in our online catalog and in a weekend session. You’ll also study anatomy coloring books and learn anatomy of movement principles.
- Online Videos, Testing, and Homework (60 hours): You’ll watch all relevant training videos and complete all testing and homework.
Upon passing both a written and practical exam, you will be a Certified Yoga Teacher!
